Module 1: Identify “Your Why”

Simon Sinek was really on to something with his book Start With Why. It’s because beginning with your purpose informs everything else we’ll do. We have to start here and get really clear on what drives you. Because when the tough times roll in (which they inevitably will) this is what you remember and how you find your strength.

Module 2: Define Your Values

Once you’ve clarified your purpose, we’ll add some flavor and nuance by defining the values for your business. These help to light your path. If “Your Why” is your foundation, your values are the scaffolding in this metaphorical building that is your business.

Module 3: Craft a Mission & Vision Statement

Only when you are clear on your purpose and your values can you craft mission and vision statements that tell your audience what you are all about and illustrate what mark you see your business making on the world.

Module 4: Unpack Your Money Story

When you’ve utilized these tools to help you get really clear about what you want and where you’re going, then we’ll shift into making it real. And that starts by getting honest with yourself about your inherited money stories. You have to release those in order to step fully into your role as CEO. Together, we’ll vanquish them.

Module 5: Money Management & Budgeting

For many of us, money is confronting. That’s why you have to confront your money blocks so that you can no longer allow money to have control over you. In this module, you’ll learn money management practices that ensure you have your base needs covered — and then some. You’ll walk away with a pricing formula that is specific to you, your practice, and your needs. Budgeting has never felt so safe — and dare I say it — FUN!

Module 6: Identify Your Streams of Revenue

You’re likely at this point because you’re feeling the burnout creep in from seeing so many clients each week. We were told that is the only way to make money, but that is simply not true. You’ll uncover fresh ideas for what other offers can round out your business and fuel your creative spark in the process.

Module 7: What is Your “Menu” for Your Business?

Building on the last module, you’ll learn how to curate all the ideas you dreamed up into a viable “menu” or suite of offerings. In this way, you are shaping your business to be in support of you. You’ll release the notion that your business has to look a certain way, and you’ll step into how your business looks uniquely like you. You’ll also have my coveted Checklist for Financial Considerations to Start Your Practice to break down all the steps to take from here.

Module 8: Imagine Your Ideal Client

Now that you know your WHY and your WHAT, it’s time to start thinking about how to share about your business in a way that feels good and true for you. That first step is getting really clear about WHO you are serving. Yes, it would be nice to say that we can help everyone, but your business will thrive if you can be very clear about your ideal client.

Module 9: Establish Your Brand Identity & Positioning

In this lesson, we start to bring it all together, we’ll touch base on “Your Why,” your values, your mission and vision statements, your “menu” of offerings, your ideal client, and further define your brand identity. This is where you get crystal clear on what sets you apart so that your ideal clients can find you with ease.

Module 10: Marketing 101

Again, building on everything you’ve done so far, now we’ll finally get to the part where most people want to jump to first — the ever-elusive, somewhat-nebulous, but mission-critical task of marketing. You’ll walk away with an authentic and effective marketing strategy and know how to leverage your brand to diversify your opportunities as a thought leader.

Module 11: Embrace a CEO Mindset

One of the trickiest parts of the transition from therapist to CEO is fully embracing the CEO mindset. It is not something we were taught, and yet, we’re somehow meant to already know how to do it. After this module, you’ll overcome limiting beliefs, establish audacious goals, and learn how to set boundaries like a boss!

Module 12: Putting it All Together

With all of this under your belt, we’ll then look to the future. You’ll future-proof your business and understand how to adapt to industry changes and stay relevant. Not only that but if you are a willing rabble-rouser wanting to revolutionize and decolonize the mental health industry, our last piece of work together will be to build your legacy plan to bake in a give-back component and community involvement.


Intentionally designed to stave off overwhelm and to encourage you to take this learning and expansion at a reasonable (and sustainable!) rate, a new module will drop every week.

Letter from Vanessa

When I first started my private practice I was working full time as a High School Social Worker. Private Practice had always been a dream and after finally passing my LCSW licensing exam, I was ready to build. 

To build a practice of my dreams. To give myself space to dream, create, and build a life that was in support of me building a family. 

I started small, working nights and weekends and continuing to work full-time at the school. I got on insurance panels, borrowed a friend's office to see clients, and began to say yes to me. I had no idea what I was doing, I made decisions out of scarcity and fear, I was too afraid to ask questions but also didn’t have money to access the resources and support, so I jumped in blindly. 

There are so many things I wish I could have done differently. So many yes’s that should have been no’s, and so many times I wish I was kinder to myself and reminded myself that I was doing the best I could with what I had. 

I wish I would have told myself, “Vanessa, you’re building something from nothing so be kinder to yourself.” 

Over the years I have learned to build community, to ask for help, to be honest with myself, to shift my mindset from playing it small to owning my role as the CEO of my business.

To being the decider of my life. 


I now own 3 businesses, have two small children, and have a 7-figure revenue stream. My life is not perfect but I’m not looking for that. I’m looking for autonomy, flexibility, connection, and to do good work in the process. 

I wish the same for you. My wish for you is that you lean into yourself and the desires of your life. That you see yourself in what you hope to build. My greatest hope is that this course is just the beginning of your launch into changing the world, not just for yourself but for future generations to come.
